The Catholic Church in Iceland offers classes in Catholic catechism.
The tuition is in the charge of priests, sisters and laymen. The Diocese has issued a book on Catholic catechism and workbooks in Icelandic.
Catechesis consists mainly in preparing children from 7 to 14 years of age for the reception of the sacraments.
Priests or sisters organize special lessons, all around the country, for children who only speak or understand Polish or English.
Children who live far away from places where organized lessons take place can participate in correspondence courses. Reverend Denis O'Leary provides further information.
The priests are responsible for education for those who are interested in the Catholic faith or wish to convert.
In winter, various lectures are held in the parishes in order to strengthen the faith of people, increase their understanding of the Scripture and explain the Catholic way of living.
Please contact the parish priest for more information.
